TEFAF Fall

Axel Vervoordt is pleased to announce our participation in TEFAF New York Fall, which is being held at Park Avenue Armory from November 1-5, 2019. This season's edition of the fair presents art from antiquity to today.

Our presentation includes significant works of archaeology as well as art by Lucio Fontana, Gotthard Graubner, Masatoshi Masanobu, Yuko Nasaka, Ryuji Tanaka, Jef Verheyen, Yun Hyong-keun, and designer Lina Bo Bardi.

At the centre of the stand is Buddha Amithaba, the oldest of the five cosmic Buddhas... It can be recognized as Amithaba by the position of his hands. Amithaba is linked to the West and symbolizes concentration and medidation. As he rules over the western paradise, his image is placed on the west side of temples in Central Java.
