At this year’s Art Cologne we will present a small retrospective of Jef Verheyen and his friends of the ZERO art movement. Being one of the conceptual founding fathers of our gallery and still an influence to many contemporary artists, Verheyen deserves a central place in our show. We will make his paintings of light dialogue with the work of his closest friends of ZERO, that were all in search of the essence of art and of a new beginning for art and for the world. We will bring a work by Lucio Fontana from Verheyen’s private collection, a Sturz Günther Uecker made in Antwerp in 1987, a 1961 painting by Heinz Mack and works by other representatives of ZERO.
Other artists featuring in our show are: Bae Bien-U, Cai Guo-Qiang, Anselm Kiefer, Antoni Tàpies, Takis and Tsuyoshi Maekawa.
