Axel Vervoordt is pleased to participate in Frieze Masters 2024, which takes place from October 9-13 at The Regent’s Park in London.
A large, untitled work from 2000 by Anish Kapoor is one of the highlights of this year’s presentation. This sculpture captivates the viewer with the purity of its white void inviting contemplation and reflection.
The theme of contemplation—about identity, the world, and the nature of light and space—is a theme throughout the selection in its entirety, featuring works by Ryuji Tanaka, Jef Verheyen, Zoran Music, Ida Barbarigo, and Fahrelnissa Zeid.
Works such as Ida Barbarigo’s “Sfinge”, a 17th-century black marble bust of a youth, and a monumental Egyptian head of a pharaoh, defaced in antiquity, are brought together to reflect on themes of identity and the intertwining of past and present towards a better future.
