The group exhibition WALK! presents an overview of walking as a practice in contemporary art, as a social phenomenon or construct, which is not just about pure movement, but also about connecting what is otherwise held back by geographical or mental boundaries. Globalisation, ecological change, protest and demonstration are central notions. Kimsooja participates with the video A Needle Woman, Tokyo, part of a video performance series consisting of eight channels. By presenting herself as a still needle, passing through the fabric of a place and its people, she attempts to capture diversity and challenges in a still, monochrome, unmoving way.
