Kimsooja’s bottari (bundle) installations and performance video works have had a major impact internationally, revealing the multiculturalism and global contexts associated with travel and nomadism. Her performance videos, which in the past have connected the environments around us in human-centered ways, have begun broadening their scope to larger environments beyond human beings and their lives. This work encompasses four parts from the artist’s eight-video project Earth-Water-Fire-Air.
